Wilma J. (Heim) Lieber

May 18, 1930 ~ November 21, 2020 (age 90)

Wilma Heim Lieber passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday Nov. 21st comforted by family and her beloved cats.

Wilma knew when she entered Heaven she’d be greeted by many loved ones and friends and there is no doubt that she and Bob are enjoying a glass of wine together. Wilma was born on May 18th, 1930 in Chicago. After graduating high school she attended Ripon College graduating in 1952. While attending college she met Bob Lieber, a shy football player, who became the love her life. They were united in marriage in the fall after graduation and enjoyed 66 years of wedded bliss. Following Bob’s service in Korea they made Neenah their lifelong home. Wilma enjoyed volunteering in many local organizations and served two terms on the Neenah Joint School District Board. Wilma was kind, generous, had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. She lived an abundant life. She was a passionate force and threw herself into her church, community, and cats. She loved to cook, decorate, entertain and travel. Wilma was especially known for her themed parties and gatherings with friends. Her generous gifts of food and love were much appreciated by the abundant wildlife in her beautiful backyard. Bob and Wilma loved the Green Bay Packers and were fortunate to attend many games at Lambeau Field, The NFL Championship and Superbowl XXXI.

Survivors include her children Barbara McElwaine, Naples Fl. , Thomas Lieber (Felissa) Orlando Fl., and Marica Lieber (Randy Jones) Raleigh NC. Beloved grandchildren who affectionally called her Mor-Mor: Robert and Mark McElwaine, Korbin and McKenna Lieber and Evan Jones. Wilma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob and numerous cats.

The family would like to thank Senior Helpers of Appleton, Daisy, Penny, Connie and Dianne for their loving care during last months of Wilma’s life, and Shannon for all her exceptional care and love. Memorials can be made directly to the Neenah Animal Shelter and The Neenah Menasha Emergency Society in Wilma’s name.
