William J. “Bill” Neely, 83, Lansing, MI and formerly of Menasha, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020.
Bill was born in Neenah on August 14, 1937, a son of the late Ted R. and Dorothy L. (Tuchscherer) Neely. He attended Menasha High School, Marquette Undergrad and Marquette Law School where he earned his law degree. Bill went on to work as a corporate lawyer for General Motors. His employment took him to Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and back to Michigan where he then retired.
Bill was married to Sally Ann (Zaspel) and together, they raised a son and daughter. He enjoyed spending time with the family at the cottage on Big Arbor Vitae Lake. Bill spent many hours reading, fishing, hunting, golfing, and shopping. Most recently he enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons visiting with his grandson Ted “TJ” who is attending college nearby. Bill will be sadly missed.
Bill leaves his son Ted (Linda) Neely of Chicago, and his daughter Susan (Dana Nett) Neely-Skrzypczak of Menasha. He also leaves his grandchildren: Aaron Skrzypczak, Emma Neely, Ted Skrzypczak and William Neely. Bill is further survived by his niece, Lisa (Eric) Neely-Poelck, his nephew, Jack Neely as well as other relatives and friends. Bill will also be remembered by his very special friend and companion, Carol Ball of Livonia, MI.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Sally and his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sandy Neely.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10 to 11 AM at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH-MENASHA (528 2nd Street, Menasha, WI 54952). A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
