Thecla J. Chaganos, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Thecla was born in Menasha on September 22, 1924 daughter of the late Walter and Mary Sarnowski. After graduating from Menasha High School she served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War 2. She married Emanuel Chaganos and he preceded her in death in 1961. Thecla worked as an LPN at Theda Clark Hospital and retired in 1977. She was a resident of Neenah and Menasha her entire life.
Thecla is survived by her son, David (Kathy) Chaganos; her daughter, Nancy (DuWayne) Voight; grandchildren: Carrie Schmidt, Stephanie Voight, Nikki Chaganos, Rachel Chaganos-Prellwitz, Mary Chaganos, Mike Worden and Heidi Worden and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Hayes, a son and daughter-in-law, Alan (Pat) Chaganos and a grandson, Dan Hayes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St. Neenah with Chaplain Anthony Gutierrez officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Military Honors will be conducted by the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team following the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
