Sue Alison (Kitchen) King

September 16, 1945 ~ October 29, 2021 (age 76)

Obituary

Sue Alison (Kitchen) King passed away early Friday, October 29, 2021 in her Fox Crossing, WI home at the age of 76 after a noble, but short bout with esophageal cancer.

Sue was born September 16, 1945 in Jersey City, N.J. to Paul and Emily (Masin) Kitchen. She is survived by her husband: David R. King; her daughter: Kristine E. King and her son: Michael L. King.

Growing up in Bayonne, N.J., Sue and her family loved going out to the “farm” on Hogback Road in Pittstown N.J. to share many noteworthy experiences with her cousins, George and Anne Weissenberger and Carol Foracker.  Sue studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University and received her N.J. State teaching certificate in September 1968. She enjoyed teaching for 14 years, especially her fourth grade students at Liberty Corner School in Basking Ridge, N.J. She enjoyed many happy times with other teachers including her long-time friends: Michelle and Bob Newhouse along with Diana and David Klesh.

Sue married her husband, David King on February 16, 1980 in Randolph Township, N.J. where they began their family. In 1990, the family moved to Menasha (now Fox Crossing), WI where her husband continued his career with Kimberly-Clark Corp.

Sue enjoyed the arts, dance, and music. As a very proficient piano player it would not be uncommon to hear her play piano renditions from many composers including Tchaikovsky, Wagner, Addinsell and Gershwin.

Sue liked to travel both domestically as well as internationally, especially to warm climates like Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica. She liked hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, bicycling, swimming, and taking motorcycle rides with her husband. Sue also liked having a cat which would always show her loving-purring affection.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Sue loved talking to others about her Bible-based faith and hope in English and Spanish. Sue will be missed but remembered by many because of her empathy and love of people and animals.
A bilingual Zoom memorial will be held by her local congregation on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
