Rosemarie (Gerdin) Lemmens, 82, Neenah, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Valley VNA following a period of declining health.
She was born in Appleton, WI on September 22, 1938, a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Heinemann) Gerdin. Rosemarie married Gerald Lemmens on June 13, 1957. They were married for 58 years before Gerald’s passing on December 26, 2015.
She enjoyed going up north to their cottage on Big Horsehead Lake in Presque Isle, WI. When her children attended St. Gabriel’s grade school, she enjoyed working in the school library and serving hot lunch. Rosemarie was also an Avon Lady, was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling.
Rosemarie is survived by her two children: Rick (Michelle) Lemmens, Neenah and Wendy (Paul) Berghuis of Brillion; three grandchildren: Matthew Lemmens, Derek (Tara) Lemmens and Hannah Berghuis as well as a great-grandchild, Declan Lemmens.
In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Scott Lemmens, her two brothers: David and Jerry Gerdin and a sister, Judy Hartzeim.
Visitation for Rosemarie will be Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 11 to 1 PM at KESSLER FUNERAL HOME (304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, WI 54956). A funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Brillion Library, in keeping with Rosemarie’s love of reading.
