Obituary

Robert James Lehrer, 87, of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022.  He was born October 17, 1934 to Robert and Blanche Lehrer. Bob married Martha Griesbach on May 10, 1958 and welcomed four children into the family.  Bob grew up in Shiocton on a farm and joined the Army Reserves from 1957 through 1963.  He built several houses from 1960 to 1965 and started R & R Steel Construction in 1960.  Bob enjoyed camping, country music festivals, gardening, fishing and his most precious grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Martha, Bob is survived by his children: Cynthia (Robert) Balza, and their children: Anton (Amy), Alex (Hannah), Eric (Lauren) and Colleen; Robert “J.R.” (special friend Sharon) and Robert’s children: Colette (Tim) Schlais, Brittany, Hanna and Bobby; Sandra (Keith) Fischer, and their children: Zackery (Heather) and  Levi (Laura); Timothy (Peggy) and their children: Kayla (Aaron) Maass, Brandon (Katie), Ryan (Kendra) and Corin. He is further survived by 13 Great-Grandchildren; a sister Rosemary Weninger; brothers Dennis (Elayne) Lehrer, Roger (special friend Sharon), Lehrer, Rocky (Marilyn) Lehrer, Roy (Linda) Lehrer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Marion (Bill) Howard, Eddie (Barb) Griesbach, Lou (Dick) Gordee, Sherry Vista, Patty and Donna Griesbach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Katherine (Hopfensperger) Lehrer; mother-in-law and father in-law, Edward and Viola Griesbach; brother, Richard Lehrer; sister, Theresa Zoesch sisters-in-law, Eunice Lehrer, Lilas Lehrer; brothers-in-law, Mike Weninger, Otto Zoesch, Alvin, Lenny and Pat Griesbach.

The Funeral Mass for Bob will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 until the time of Mass. Military Honors will be conducted by the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors team following services. Burial will be in St. Margaret Cemetery.
