Lani M. Dordel, age 76, of Neenah, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 after courageously fighting to recover from a stroke in August and an infection after a recent surgery. She was born in Oshkosh on Christmas Eve in 1944 to her father, the late and former Green Bay Packer, Champ Seibold and her mother, accomplished dancer, Mary (Koenig) Siebold.
Lani loved taking care of people and became a registered nurse in 1988. She worked in the surgical unit of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton, and later at Winnebago Health Institute in Oshkosh. During retirement Lani loved spending time with her five grandchildren and enjoying a full life of hobbies including cooking, exchanging recipes, quilting and baking.
Lani is survived by her husband Samuel, whom she married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah on October 26, 1968. She is also survived by her children; Mark Dordel and Sarah Dordel; daughter-in-law Wendy Dordel; grandchildren, Jayde, Archer, Juliana, Mackenzie and Amelia; god-son Michael Hoeft, her brother, Greg Seibold, and his wife Elizabeth Seibold. Lani was preceded in death by her sister, Lynn Hoeft, and god-daughter Susan Hoeft.
