Obituary

Jill A. Shell (nee Anderson), 48, Neenah, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022. Jill lost her courageous battle with Huntington's Disease, an incurable degenerative neurological disease, which feels like ALS, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's all at once. Jill was born on March 17, 1974 in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of the late Gordon and Judith (Kimball) Anderson. 

Jill was a caregiver.  Jill’s mom passed away when she was Sophomore at UM-D and later achieved advanced degrees in psychology and nursing and worked in healthcare for her entire career.  On October 2, 2004, Jill married Brad Shell at Medina Wedding Chapel in Medina, WI.  She gained a son and later added a daughter, Isabella.  Jill loved cereal, Diet Pepsi, People magazine and spending time with family at her aunt and uncle's cottage Up North.  Most of all she loved her daughter Isabella and supported her at all of her many activities and events.    

Jill was a graduate of Braham High School with the class of 1992 and furthered her education at UM-Duluth, where she received her BS in Psychology (1996). Jill later received an AS in Nursing from Fox Valley Technical College.  Jill worked for many years at Menards, as a caregiver/CNA at Brewster Village (formerly Outagamie County Health Center), and as an RN at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and finally spent more than 10 years at UW Hospital in Madison as an RN on the night shift in the Cardiac Care unit (4 North). 

Jill is survived by her husband of 17 years (Brad), daughter Isabella, step-son Tayte Dulski (fiance McKayla Zellmer), 2 younger sisters, Traci Anderson (son Jacob Trusler, fiance Andy Trusler) and Jennifer Reid (daughter Chelsea Reid), Aunt Linda Kurrasch (husband Dick) and Step-grandma Lois Kimball. She is further survived by many many aunts, uncles, cousins, Nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gordy and Judi Anderson (Stanchfield, MN), grandparents Reuben & Joanne Anderson (Minneapolis, MN) and James & Alice Kimball (Appleton, WI) and maternal Uncle David Kimball.

Special thank you to all of the many doctors, nurses, behavioral therapists and caregivers that assisted in Jill’s care especially NeuroScience Group, ThedaCare Behavioral Health, Nurse Kathryn at Aurora at Home Hospice - Racine, Community Care, Verta and Linda at OpenArms Assisted Living, Winnebago County ADRC and Debbie Zwickey with Huntington’s Disease Society of America. 

An open house and memorial will be held at KESSLER FUNERAL HOME 304 S. Commercial St. Neenah, WI on Saturday April 9th, 2022 from Noon until 4:00 P.M.

A memorial is being established for Huntington's Disease research, support and advocacy.
