James G. Kazik, age 71, of Neenah, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020. James was born on August 26, 1949 in Green Bay, son of the late Edward and Edith (Dion) Kazik. James went to Green Bay West High School and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on his 18th birthday. He served in the Vietnam War during the Tet Offense of 1968 as an agent orange handler. He was honorably discharged in 1970. He returned to Wisconsin where he met Anna Mae Muehlbauer in 1976. They had a daughter Sooner Schoepke in 1977 and got married in 1980 with Sooner as the flower girl. He moved to Wausaukee and worked at the Waupaca Foundry for many years before retiring as an electrician. James moved back to Green Bay in 1995 where he enjoyed watching football and hanging out with his friends. He moved to the Neenah area in 2017 to be closer to the lake. He loved to hop in his convertible, blast his music and just ride with no destination in mind. He was happiest doing that. He was not only a father to his daughter, but a best friend and will be dearly missed every day!
James is survived by his daughter, Sooner, his son, Jamie Kazik, two step-sons, Jerry Brookhorst and Joseph (Annette) Brookhorst; grandsons, Cole, Jared, Isiah, Samson and Noah; granddaughters, Janelle, Makayla and Mercadeez. He is further survived by two sisters, Sharron Freeman and Debbie (Tom) Albers; and a brother, Edward (Sue) Kazik.
James was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William Kazik, a brother-in-law, Paul Freeman; nephew, Christopher; niece, Kaylee; grandson, Austin; granddaughter, Sierra Madison and too many other family and friends to list.
A memorial service for James will be held at a later date.
