Donna F. Coenen, age 91, of Neenah, WI, entered eternal life on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Eagle Court Memory Care. Born on May 30, 1931, in Sobieski, WI, Donna was the daughter of Michael and Cora (Drengler) Beaudo. Donna attended St. Mary’s Grade School and High School, in Menasha, graduating in 1949. Following graduation, and before marrying, she was employed at the city library and Kimberly Clark in the accounting department.
On May 2, 1953 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Duane Coenen. Together they had seven children. Duane preceded her in death on August 15, 2010. Donna and Duane, along with Duane’s brother, owned and operated Checker Moving and Storage and Checker Warehousing, where she was secretary/treasurer. She was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Parish, in Neenah, where she was a member of the Women’s Altar Society. She was also a past President of the Homemakers Club. In her “spare” time she enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting, playing bridge, and reading (especially with the school students.) Spending time with family is what truly brought a smile to her face. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include her seven children: Mary (Don) Schaning, Sheboygan; Paul (Sue) Coenen, Neenah; Tom (Dawn) Coenen, Neenah; Karen (Steve) Beckerleg, Verona; Laura Ryan (Dave Adair), Colorado Springs, CO; Michael (Angela) Coenen, Neenah; Mark (Linda) Coenen, Neenah; along with 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Jim (Bev) Coenen, along with nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Nelda, and brother-in-law, Jim Kolosso.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church 620 Division St, Neenah on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Margaret Mary Grade School.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Eagle Court for their care and compassion of mom the past year.
Rest in Peace Mom.
