David R. Brandtmeier, age 72, of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2021. David was born on June 2, 1949 in Menasha, son of the late Reuben and Mildred (Reetz) Brandtmeier. He graduated from St. Mary High School in Menasha in 1967 and then enlisted in the United States Marines. David married Phyllis Wimberger at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha on August 10, 1974. David worked for Menasha Corporation for 30 plus years. He enjoyed golfing, going to movies, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid Brewers fan. David loved to start up conversation with anyone, loved to take the long way to get everywhere & enjoyed the drive. He also loved having game night with family & friends.
David is survived by his daughters, Angela (Travis) Techlin and Kayla (Adam) Wells; and a son-in-law, Lee Stingle. He is also survived by his fiance’, Yvonne Engelman, three grandson’s, Kenneth III, Noah, and Dillin; siblings, William (Jan) Brandtmeier, Shirley Olson and Michael (Julie) Brandtmeier; in-laws, Mary (Bill Holt) VanLankvelt, Barb, Nancy and John Wimberger. David is further survived by Yvonne’s children, Sadie (Tom) Diedrick, Theresa Bumann, Cathleen (Travis) Diedrick and Tracy Engleman, and also Yvonne’s 10 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Phyllis who preceded him in death in 2015, he is also preceded by his daughter, Heather Stingle and brother’s-in-law, Michael Olson, Joseph, Cyril “Wimpy” and James Wimberger.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
