Bernard “Bernie” Hildebrand, age 82, of Neenah, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Bernie was born on April 18, 1940 in Peeksville, Wisconsin son of the late Herman and Edna (Rominski) Hildebrand. He worked for many years as a Mechanic for Banta Corporation and was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bernie was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and spending time at his cabin in Glidden. He was also a gifted woodworker and could build just about anything.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet (Keberlein) Hildebrand; his daughters, Lisa Hildebrand and Wendy (Lucien) Levasseur; a daughter-in-law, Sara Howard; his grandsons, Brandon, Brett, Benjamin, and Jonathan Hildebrand and Levi Levasseur and a step-granddaughter Stacey Starr. He is also survived by three brothers, Herman (Donna) Hildebrand, Kenneth (Roseann) Hildebrand and David (Susan) Hildebrand; two sisters, Diane Derby and Judy (Robert) Paessler; his in-laws; Eugene Keberlein, Donna Bauer, Barbara Sheets, David (Carol) Keberlein, Gerald (Kay) Keberlein, Sandy (Doug) Doemel, Daniel (Ginger) Keberlein, Calvin (LuAnn) Keberlein, and Jane Keberlein.
Bernie was preceded in death by his son, Bruce; three sisters, Norma Gossens, Rosella Gerrits and Ruth Vander Weilen, two brothers, Carl and Oscar Hildebrand and many other relatives.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 900 Geiger St. Neenah. Services will begin at 11:15 a.m. with Military Honors, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30. Burial will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit: www.kesslerfh.com.
