Andrew “Andy” Sturges, age 46, of Neenah, passed away unexpectedly with his sister at his side on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Andy was born on July 18, 1974 son of Jack and Donna (Mattek) Sturges. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Neenah and graduated from Neenah High School with the class of 1992. Andy went on to obtain an associate degree from Fox Valley Technical College and was currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Pitney Bowes, a job in which he loved.
Andy loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephew. He loved family gatherings (especially those that included Kathy’s cooking) and particularly enjoyed game nights and watching movies. Andy was a good friend who liked spending time with his close friends and co-workers. Andy enjoyed watching Star Wars and collecting pop figures. He was an avid gamer and very knowledgeable about technology. Decorating and cleaning his apartment were some of his favorite things to do. Andy was a devoted Packer fan - he enjoyed watching the games after church on Sundays. Andy had a strong faith throughout his entire life. He enjoyed sitting in the same spot at Riverview Lutheran Church alongside his family members. Andy was very intelligent, strong willed, and caring. He will be remembered most for his sarcasm and lovable personality.
Andy is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Shelly (Dean) Birling, his nephew, Derek Birling; nieces, Samantha (Jacob O’Brien) Birling, Sydney and Madelyn Birling and his step-father, Gene Mattek. He is also survived by many close friends and his co-workers at Pitney Bowes. Andy was preceded in death by his parents.
The Christian Funeral for Andy will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Riverview Lutheran Church, 136 W. Seymour St., Appleton with Pastor Timothy Wagner officiating.
