Amy L. (Barter) Wiley, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021. On February 11, 1938, Amy was born in West Allis to Leon and Amy Barter. Shortly after she was born, her family moved to Oshkosh where she went to school, graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1955 and from Constance Beauty School in 1956. Amy moved back to the Milwaukee area and lived there until she met the love of her life, Donald E. Wiley. They were united in marriage on June 8, 1963 and they moved to Neenah were they lived for the rest of their lives. She owned Amy’s West Side Beauty Spot in Neenah for many years and then worked at ThedaCare Neenah until her retirement.
Amy had enjoyed her last years at Highland Apartments in Neenah making many new friends who she really appreciated knowing.
Amy will be missed by her two children: Kevin (fiancée, Jennifer Vasseau) Wiley, Neenah and Karen (Jeffrey) Kokocki, Neenah; her grandson, Justin Kokocki; a brother, Larry (Kathy) Barter, Minocqua, a sister-in-law, Mary Barter, Pewaukee; along with several nieces and nephews, especially Linda and Phil Hitz, Florida.
Amy was preceded in death by her husband Don on October 24, 2007, her parents, brothers: Robert, Leon Jr, Bruce, and Harold Barter; her sisters: Marjorie Weber, Shirley Barter, and Leah Hallstead; as well as her in-laws, Charles and Gladys Wiley; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah. Online condolences can be made at www.kesslerfh.com
