Ruth A. JeromeMay 16, 1935 ~ October 4, 2017 (age 82)
Ruth M. (Ashley) Jerome, age 82, passed away from her journey through Alzheimer's on October 4, 2017. She was born to Ralph and Frances (Pozolinski) Ashley on May 16, 1935 in Menasha. Ruth married Charles Jerome on July 24, 1954.
Ruth’s loving and caring personality touched many people through her joy in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed exercise at Kimberly Clark West, being a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteers Program (RSVP) and the Red Hat Society as well as volunteering with the Menasha Senior Center and the Thompson Community Center.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her five children; Kathleen (John) Buchberger, Theresa (Harijs) Jurkis, Patricia VanderVelden, Michael (Cathy) Jerome, Marten (Judith) Jerome; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-laws: Bob (Esther) Jerome, Joanie Ashley and Beverly Ashley. She is further survived by her grandchildren; Kristine Jurkis, Erich Jurkis, Thomas VanderVelden, Tanya (Brock) Joosten, Tyler VanderVelden, Shane Jerome, Rebecca (Patrick) Peterson, Danielle (Anthony Jr) Bryand, Shaun Wallace, Amanda (Joey Gauthier) Chamberlain, Mikel Chamberlain, sixteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jerome (1996); parents Ralph and Frances (Pozolinski) Ashley; grandson Joshua Buchberger; Brothers: Donald Ashley and James Ashley; Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-Laws: Willard (Donna) Jerome and Lois (Robert) Huebner.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating, followed by a light lunch. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Menasha.
All monetary donations to her memorial fund will be given in Ruth’s name to Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at University of Wisconsin, Madison.
