Rosemary "Ginger" TomczykNovember 4, 2017
Rosemary “Ginger” Tomczyk of Neenah, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Ginger was loved by her family and many friends and her memory will be forever cherished. The daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Hrabik) Moser, Ginger was born on May 23, 1934 in Manitowoc where she spent her childhood. She married James Tomczyk on June 9, 1956 in Manitowoc, and the couple moved to Neenah shortly after to raise their children: Todd, Laura, Scott, Jim, Mark, and Sara. After her children were grown, Ginger enjoyed traveling with her husband and closest friends.
Ginger led an active social life, taking part in numerous card clubs and participating as an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Parish. She generously dedicated many hours to serving her church and community through volunteer contributions and Meals on Wheels. Ginger spent much of her time in the kitchen, cooking and baking for her loved ones. Her life was centered around her unparalleled love for her family and closest friends, and she particularly enjoyed supporting her grandchildren at their various events. Ginger also had a passion for puzzles, and always had a work in progress on her dining room table. Those who visited her home could recognize her affinity for antiques and love of the color blue. Her selflessness, kindness, and humor made her a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Ginger is survived by her children: Laura (Todd) Peterson, Scott (Peggy) Tomczyk, Jim (Beth) Tomczyk, Mark (Tamara) Tomczyk, and Sara (James) Hackinson; grandchildren: Sara Peterson, Meghan (Jon) Toyne, Christopher (Morgan Breitbach) Peterson, Ross (Delaney Ulbrich) Tomczyk, Alison (Mike) Shaw, Alec, Ellie, and Lydia Tomczyk, Mackenzie and Emily Tomczyk, and Grace and Hadley Hackinson; great-grandchildren: Noah and Irelynn Toyne, and siblings: Ronald (Janet) Moser, Jeff Moser, and Ann (Corky) Baierl. In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, James, her son, Todd, and her great-grandson, Cayden Toyne.
A mass to celebrate Ginger’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating.
