Romilda "Millie" A. Mohnen

Romilda "Millie" Mohnen, age 81, of Neenah, passed away peacefully after a 20 plus year battle with Parkinson's Disease on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home with her husband by her side.  Millie was born on July 12, 1936 in Stanley,WI., daughter of the late Lawrence and Odelia (Duss) Heiting.  She married James P. Mohnen  at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Stanley on June 26, 1956. 

Millie worked in the supper club business as a waitress and bartender for most of her life.  She was a very colorful, lively and social person who never had a bad thing to say about anyone.  Millie was very active at St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she was the first woman communion distributor and usher and was very active in organizing the Round-Up chicken dinners.  She liked to spend her time doing colorful, imaginative scrapbooking in her own way.

Millie is survived by her husband Jim, whose loving hands took care of her as the Parkinson's got worse.  She is also survived by her children:  Debra Eberhard-Mohnen (dear friend Rick Maggiore), Judy (Jerry) Karel, Ginger (Greg) Van Thiel, Jackie (Dave) Salm and Mark (Linda) Mohnen and a former son-in-law, Stefan Eberhard; her grandchildren:  Tiffany (Ridwan Bhuiyan) Eberhard, Samantha Eberhard, Tony (Katie) Karel, Pat (Tara) Karel, James (Hali) Van Thiel, Mike (special friend Shelby Golden) Van Thiel, Clayton (special friend Tori Lemke) Van Thiel, Becky Van Thiel, Mary Van Thiel, Stephanie (Kyle) Droessler, Nicole (Todd) Posselt, Shannon Salm, Christopher Salm, Jessica (Matt) Krahenbuhl, and Abigayle Mohnen; great-grandchildren: Georgia Karel, Francis Karel, Baby Karel, Peyton Van Thiel, and Jacob Droessler; her brother, Richard (Nina) Heiting, her sister, Nan Mohnen.  Millie is further survived by Jim's siblings and in-laws, John Mohnen, Mary Vinz, Merlyn Kettner, Leo Mohnen, Rosalie Mohnen, David Mohnen, Jeanette (Bob) Priebe, Dolores Waters, Sharon (Bob) Beckman, Paul(Nancy) Mohnen, Edward Mohnen and Theresa Ishmael, and many nieces and nephews.

Millie is also preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and Anna (Schroeder) Mohnen, a sister and brother-in-law, Lavonne (Edwin) Ritzman, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Orville (Carol) Heiting, and Ken (Linda) Heiting;  in laws, Gene Koch, Warren Vinz, Betty Kettner, Phillip Mohnen, Donna Mohnen, Jerald Mohnen, Alan Waters and Richard Mohnen, and a nephew, Ryan Heiting. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m at which time there will be a tribute to Millie followed by the funeral mass.  Entombment will be at Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah.  

The family would like to offer a special thank you to, Theda Care at Home Hospice especially, Lorraine, Claudia, Christine and Molly; Cherry Meadows Hospice Residence and Home Instead Senior Care, especially, Kelly, Arty, Julie.  They would also like to thank everyone else who has helped and supported the family over the past many years.  There are too many of you to list and count.
