Robert Roger KrollMarch 12, 1928 ~ March 4, 2017 (age 88)
Robert "Bob" "Coach" "Boomer" Kroll, 88, Neenah, was born March 12, 1928, in the Town of Herman, Shawano County, WI, the son of John and Emma (Viergutz) Kroll. Robert was united in marriage to Elaine E. Funk on October 27, 1956, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2006. Bob was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Neenah, and the Neenah American Legion Post #33. Robert had a loving wife, Elaine, for 50 years, and then met an old high school friend that made his later years happy, Gladys Stezenski. Bob worked for the Soo Line Railroad for over 30 years. He was a member of the Gresham Baseball Hall of Fame, and later coached baseball for the majority of his adult life. Robert also organized activities involving the local credit unions.
Robert is survived by his children: Judith (Charles Brooks) Kroll, Oshkosh; Jeffrey (Sheri) Kroll, Neenah; and 2 grandchildren: Jonathan and Samuel; special friend: Gladys Stezenski; and many other relatives and friends.
Robert was further preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Lorian (Harold Weede and Vilas "Mike") Wichmann and Ilamae (Eugene) Buckoski; 2 brothers: Donald (Sally and Mary Ann) Kroll, Maury (Hazel) Kroll; and 3 of his nieces: Toni Ross, Karen Krebsbach and Lori Conner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah, with Rev. Ricky P. Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, and will continue on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the service, full military honors will be presented by Active Duty members of the U.S. Army and the Neenah-Menasha Veterans Honors Team. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Peace Lutheran Church, Suburban Athletics, or the Neenah American Legion Post #33.
