Kyle John FreundOctober 2, 1985 ~ September 29, 2017 (age 31)
Kyle John Freund, age 31, of Neenah, died on September 29th, 2017. Kyle was born on October 2nd, 1985 to Craig and Marcia (Christensen) Freund. Kyle attended Saint Margaret Mary’s Catholic School, Horace Mann Middle School, and graduated from Neenah High School in 2004. He also attended the University of Oshkosh pursuing a degree in communication.
Kyle was an avid road biker and outdoor enthusiast. He especially enjoyed sharing his love of outdoor activities with others. Whether it was managing a sporting goods store in Colorado, distributing outdoor gear in Michigan, assisting a customer looking for the perfect pair of skis in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, or simply performing maintenance on bicycles, Kyle found immense joy in helping people discover ways to enjoy the outdoors as much as he did.
Kyle also had a passion for music and movies. He played many instruments throughout his life, including guitar, drums and trombone, and he would often use music as a way to connect with others and to express himself. He would regularly engage friends and family on the virtues of certain musical selections or movies.
Kyle was a caring son and brother. As an uncle, Kyle always found time to meaningfully interact with his niece and nephews. His ability to relate to people of all ages, his witty sense of humor and his good nature were surely the main reasons why his niece and nephews were always overjoyed to see him whenever he came to visit. He will truly be missed.
Kyle is survived by his mother and father, his sister Therese (Freund) Probst, his brother Steven, and his niece and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017 with a celebration of life at 2:30 p.m.
Kyle’s family is especially grateful for all of the kindness and support in this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Boys and Girls Brigade, Attn: Kyle Freund. Kyle held a special place in his heart for both the Boys and Girls Brigade and Camp Onaway where he served as a chore boy.
