- About Us
Katherine A. Jepson, age 75, of Appleton, formerly of Neenah, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Munising MI, and eventually moved to Milwaukee, where she worked at Pepsi, and was promoted to head bookkeeper. In the early 70's, she moved to Neenah, where she met and married John "Jack" Jepson in 1973. She worked for a few years as a secretary, for different real estate companies and then decided to be a stay at home mom. In 1998, she went to work at St. Joseph's Residence in New London as a CNA, and from there to the Washington Center for assisted living. She was very dedicated to her residents, and they and their families loved her. Her hobbies included taking bus trips to Brewer games with her two best friends, Dixi Schneider and Betty Allen. She also loved gardening, collecting Angels, watching the birds and other wildlife that gathered at her birdfeeders. Those who knew her, loved her sense of humor, how fiercely loyal she was to her friends and family and how certain stupid things that other people did outraged her. She is survived by her children, Kevin Jepson (Lisa Smith), Appleton, Karla Jepson, Fremont, her granddaughter, Jasmyn Jepson Litton (Cory Litton), Florida; her siblings, Dick (Lorraine) Kirmo, Robert Kirmo, Don (Debbie) Kirmo, Dale (Sandy) Kirmo, Pauline Frans, Sandra (Gene) Virta, aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved cats Oliver and Charlie.
Katherine fought and beat cancer 3 times in the last 11 years and although she fought right to the end, this last time proved to be too much. As her granddaughter said, "She has definitely earned her beautiful angel wings marked with each of her many battles she survived through."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents, Arne and Lillian, her brother Michael Kirmo, her brother-in-law, Harry, "Rainbow Ron" Frans and several aunts and uncles.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In Iieu of flowers a memorial has been established to help cover the cost of medical bills.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
