Eileen Tews of the Village of Fox Crossing went home to live with her Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 84 on November 18, 2019. She was born to Zeno and Rose Nennig of the Town of Menasha on April 20, 1935. She lived her entire life in the Town now called Fox Crossing. Eileen graduated from Neenah High School in 1953. She also attended Fox Valley Tech from which she received a Realtor license, the job she did for many years and retired from in 1998. In 1965, she married Arden Tews at Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton. They had 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Eileen enjoyed her family and their 2 dogs Boo and Sally. She loved the beautiful gardens and apple orchard that was Ardens' hobby. Apple blossom time was her favorite time of the year. During her younger years she was active at St. Matthew Church in Appleton. She taught Sunday school, sang in choir, joined altar care and also, with her husband, headed up visitation of the elderly shut in program. She sang in the Lutheran Chorale, attended Bible classes at church and also home bible study. She loved to read and had an extensive library.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arden; a daughter, Dr. Debra Beringer, Rio Verde, AZ; sons, Richard (Wendy) Tews and their children Ben and Brittany of Fountain Hills, AZ; and Scott (Kimberly) Tews of Readfield, WI. Sisters-in-law, Judy Nennig, Village of Fox Crossing; Ruth Nemmitz of Manawa; Arlene Tews of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Rose and Zeno Nennig; brothers, Jerome, Lyle, Allen, and Jake Nennig; her in-laws, Walter and Clara Tews; Orwald, Loretta, and Irma Tews; Burnell Nemmitz; and Mildred and Jo Ann Nennig.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 129 S. Mason St., Appleton with Pastor Jon Kuske officiating.
