NEENAH – Delores A. Anderson, age 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She was born August 23, 1926 in Neenah, WI to Edward and Magdalena (Hetzel) Klug. Delores married Clifford Anderson May 1, 1948 in Neenah, WI. They were married for nearly 50 years until his death on January 16, 1998. Delores and her husband Cliff lived in Menasha, Green Bay, and Milwaukee prior to moving back to Neenah, WI permanently. Delores enjoyed 15 additional years of companionship with Robert Nackers until his death July 13, 2015. One of Delores’ early work experiences was with Kimberly-Clark Badger Globe Office. After moving back to Neenah in 1961, Delores found employment at Menasha Woodenware (later becoming Menasha Corporation) for 30 some years until retiring from there. Her photo appears in a book of the company's history because “she rescued the payroll from the inferno” in 1964. Delores and her husband Cliff and their family were charter members of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah, WI. Delores and Cliff were active with the congregation for several decades. All of their children attended St. Gabriel Elementary School. Delores graduated from Neenah High School in 1944. Over subsequent years, Delores took courses in a variety of subjects, including mathematics and art, at Lawrence College (now known as Lawrence University) and in the University of Wisconsin system at Oshkosh, Green Bay, and Fox Valley campuses. The many interests Delores enjoyed over her long life included knitting, sewing, quilting, oil painting, traveling, and spending time with her family. She had a special knack for decorating her home, and many commented how beautiful it was while visiting. The walls of her home are adorned with many examples of her art and craft works. As her children were growing up, Delores usually could be found downstairs in her sewing room. From Barbie doll clothes to large quilts to mending socks, there was no task too big or too small that she couldn't handle. She even made a finely tailored sports jacket for her husband. Delores loved to travel and took many trips with various family members and friends, visiting the east coast and west coast and numerous places in between and beyond, including several European countries. Delores loved to be out and about, always on the go. Often, she would just get in her van and drive by herself around Lake Winnebago "just to get out.”Though she always hated cooking, Delores forever will be remembered for her tasty orange jello and terrific caramel corn. No family holiday gathering would be complete without them.
