Betty Williams, age 91 of Neenah passed away on February 8, 2019. Betty was born on March 25, 1927, the youngest of six children to the late Bill and Leila (Carter) Rogge. In 1943 she married Edward Wisniewski, who perished shortly after their marriage during WWII. Her brothers introduced her to a returning soldier named Harold Williams. They were married in 1945 and through their 42 years together they raised 4 children.
Betty moved from Neenah to Fremont, New London and then back to Neenah. She worked at the A&P Neenah Island location, Kimlark in Neenah and A&P in New London. She later went into business with Harold and became owner of Willy’s Inn, Neenah, managed by her son Bill. After selling the business she became a co-owner of Hucklberry Acres Campground in New London in which she shared ownership with Harold and their children Bill and Sue. She retired from the campground in 2001 and moved back to Neenah.
Many people at the Campground simply called her Mom. She was always available and worked at various jobs running the business. She was the peacekeeper, the one with the smile, sweet voice and quick laugh. Betty very much enjoyed meeting all the campers and working with others for special parties and activities and just the day-to-day interactions of running the business.
Betty was a very giving person to family and friends. She also liked to give to the casinos when she could get away from the business. She very much enjoyed her trips to Laughlin, NV and other places over the years. A lot of laughs with friends and fabulous stories to tell.
