Gietman, Peter Johannes Jr.
Peter Gietman, 75, Little Chute, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center after a long illness.  He was born November 24, 1933, in Eindhoven, Holland, son of Peter Johannes and Christina (Janssen) Gietman.  Peter married Barbara Brennecke February 15, 1958, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton.  He was an engineer and was the founder of both CMD Corporation and Prima Engineering.  He was an inventor and held several patents in the Plastic Machinery Industry.  He was a member of the United Nations Army in Holland and was an officer.  Peter was a bike racer in Holland and was an avid boater and loved playing cards.  He was a member and past president of the McDowell Male Chorus in Appleton.  He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks and was also a 35 year member of St. Paul Church Choir.
Peter is survived by his wife Barbara; his children:  Thomas (Lori) Gietman, D.D.S., Fond du Lac; Constance “Connie” (Todd) Verbruggen, Town of Buchanan and Jennifer (Rick) Roberts, Kaukauna; 6 grandchildren:  Jacob, Bradley, Kimberly and Michael Gietman; Kaitlyn and Peter Verbruggen; brothers and sisters:  Nellie Bekx, Kimberly; Ria Hooyman, Fremont; John Gietman, Somis, CA and Bert (Karen) Gietman, Combined Locks; 2 sisters-in-law:  Joan Grimmer, Pine River, MN and Carol (Eugene) Jenneman, Appleton; father-in-law, Jesse R. Ramsey, Menasha.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jacob; his mother-in-law, Delphine Brennecke Ramsey; 2 brothers-in-law:  Dale Grimmer and Ted Bekx and a sister-in-law, Jan Gietman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks with Frs. James Lucas and Bob Vandenberg officiating.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.  Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass.  A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. and the McDowell Male Chorus will be giving Peter a vocal tribute at 7:00 p.m., both Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established for the Kidney Foundation.


 Gerritts, Ronald Francis
Ronald Gerritts, 48, Freedom, died Friday, March 27, 2009.  Ron was born August 10, 1960, in Kaukauna, son of Vernon “Shorty” and Anita (Konkle) Gerritts.  He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Parish in Freedom.  Ron was previously employed at Valentine Plumbing, Freedom.
Ron is survived by his three children:  Travis (special friend Cara Dunathan), Freedom; Deena (fiancé Cody Overstreet), San Diego, CA; Tyler, UW-Madison; sisters:  Karen (Dave) Horn, Appleton; Vicky (Randy) Green, Freedom; brothers:  Daryl “Doc” (Shelley), Freedom; Tom (Barb), Freedom; nieces and nephews:  Ryan, Cory (Deena) and Kyle Huss, Sarah (Eric) Kranski, Paige Green, Nichole, Tanner, Joshua, Adeline, Cambria and Raina Gerritts, Nathan Dupont, Adam (Angela) and Kelly Horn; further survived by other relatives and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul, and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at St. Nicholas Church, W2037 Cty Rd. S, Freedom, with Rev. Dave Hoffman officiating and Deacon Don Newhouse concelebrating.  Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. Monday until the time of the mass.  A memorial is being established.

 


 Greene, Allen D. “Big Al”
Allen Greene, 53, Little Chute, died with his family by his side Thursday, December 18, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Al was born September 27, 1955, in Baraboo, WI, son of Allie and Ann (Bellamy) Greene.  Allen married Nancy A. Seidl, “Bugs”, in 1980, in El Paso, Texas.  Al was employed by Appleton (formerly Appleton Paper) for many years and was a member of the Valley Vettes.  He loved corvettes, especially his 1980 corvette “Annie”, and enjoyed attending car shows.  Al also loved fishing with family and friends; he especially enjoyed fishing with his cousin Orville Jacobs, and he loved taking fishing trips to Canada, and playing cards with Ma Seidl.  He enjoyed football and camping at his trailer on Pine Lake.  Al also loved to cook; his barbeque skills were second to none, and he loved taking “Pa Greene” and “Ma Seidl” out for fish on Friday nights.
Allen is survived by his wife, Nancy, Little Chute; children:  Ben, Sam, and Amanda, at home; his dad, Allie, Little Chute; dog and family pet, Sophie; brother, Doug (Jodi) Greene; sister, Angie (Eric) Haataja, both of Appleton; mother-in-law, Laona Seidl, Appleton; the rest of the Seidl bunch; special friends and extended family:  Steve (Sue) Crober and “the bears”, Winchester; Paul (Deb) Jacobs, Menasha; Rick Brunnicinni, Stockbridge; Kelly, and Scooter (co-workers).
Allen was preceded in death by his mother; father-in-law, Mike Seidl; step-mother, Nancy Greene; 2 brothers-in-law, Jerry and Dick Seidl.
Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute from 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 until 11:00 a.m. A private memorial service for family and close friends will follow.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
Special thanks to the staff at Al’s workplace (Appleton) and especially Dave and Pam for their compassion and support.  Also thank you to the ThedaCare Hospice nurses, especially Leslie, for their loving care, as well as Trisha Meral (social worker) and the staff at the Martha Siekman Center, especially Drs. Kevin Mortara and John Swanson.
Finally, to my dad:  “You were not only my dad, you were my best friend.  I love you Allen!”
