W e appreciate the sacrifice our veterans have given us. Therefore, it is our honor for our staff to assist and arrange all details an honorable discharged veteran is entitled to and earned. Our funeral home will arrange full military honors. These can be held where the funeral or memorial service will take place. Full military honors include presentation and folding of the flag, taps and the gun salute. Partial military honors are also available. These include the presentation and folding of the flag taps (no weapons are fired). We also contact the C.V.S.O. (County Veteran Service Officer) for your loved one. They will send a letter to your family informing you of their services and assist your family in: Securing a military marker at the cemetery and small flag holder; discharge information to acquire the American flag, finding out if the veteran is eligible for burial benefits, etc.
If a question arises for the C.V.S.O., here are some phone numbers:
Winnebago County: (920)729-4820 & (920)727-2880, Calumet County: (920)849-1452, and Outagamie County: (920)832-5697
The military honors will be performed by the veteran’s Legion Post, V.F.W., AMVETS, or an active unit out of Madison. The active unit is usually assisted by a local Legion, V.F.W. or AMVETS. If you are a veteran and interested in joining a local Legion, V.F.W., or AMVETS, please contact us and we will assist in getting you their phone number and point of contact.
Day is done, gone the sun
From the lake, from the hill, From the sky.
All is well, safely rest. God is nigh.
Thanks and praise for our day ‘neath the sun, ‘neath the stars, ‘neath the sky.
As we go, this we know. God is nigh.
"Thank you for your service to our country."
